A Michigan police officer has been suspended after found driving with a Confederate flag at a Trump support rally.
According to a report in Michigan daily Traverse City Record-Eagle, off-duty officer Michael Peters was seen flying the Confederate flag on Veteran’s Day during a “Love Trumps Hate” rally in Traverse City, Mich., after Donald Trump’s presidential win.
On Monday, Traverse City Police Chief Jeffrey O’Brien called the incident “reprehensible” and said any police should understand that he lives inside “a glass house.”
Speaking at a news conference, O'Brien said, “I met with him this morning and I think he understands the ramifications of his actions, I’m not here to judge him; we have a process that we have to go through and we have to allow that process to be implemented. I’m asking everybody in the community to just be patient and let us do our job.”
