AL-MUHAYMIN

The Protector 

He who watches over and protects all things.

YA-MUHAYMIN

Those who repeats this Name and have complete ablution, their inner being will be luminous.

AL-MU'MIN

The Guardian of  Faith

He who places faith in the hearth of His servants, protects those who seek refuge in Him, and gives tranquility.

He who frees his servants from all danger and obstruction. He who gives His greeting to those fortunate people in Heaven.

Allah has said pray to Me, so that I will answer you. Allah has said : "Ask From ME through mentioning My name" Hadis Qudsi

O Son of Adam, I am Allah. There is none worthy of worship beside Me.

 I say to a thing, "Be", and it comes into being. 

Obey Me. I will make you such that you say to a thing, "Be", and there it will be.

He is all-knowing and His strength is sufficient for everything.

The Self-Subsisting

He who holds the entire universe.

YA-QAYYUM

He who repeats this Name will not fall into inadvertency.

Praying with Asma Ul-Husna

Allah decrees in Holy Quran in Araf 7/180 :

The most beautiful names belong to Allah: so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited.

Any person who pray to Allah should try to utilize “beautiful names of Allah”, Asma Ul-Husna. He or she should use the suitable names in accordance with his, her wishes.  For instance if one is praying to diminish poverty or hunger and wishes to experience an expansion of livelihood and general income, he should use the names “Ar-Razzaq” which means “The Provider, the Sustainer”

or “Al Karim” which means “The One who is clear from abjectness. The most generous, the Bountiful.”

If the subject of the prayer is to seek forgiveness from earlier sins the following names are suggested be used inside the prayer while addressing Allah(j.j)

Ar-Rahmam:

The One who has plenty of mercy for the believers and the blasphemers in this world and especially for the believers in the hereafter. The Most Merciful

Ar-Rahim:

The One who has plenty of mercy for the believers. The most Compassionate

Al-Ghaffar:

The One who forgives the sins of His slaves time and time again. The Forgiving, the Forgiver

Al-Afuww:

The One with wide forgiveness. The Forgiver, the effacer, the Pardoner.

Al-Ghafoor:

The One who forgives a lot. The Forgiving, the Pardoner.

If one is praying to asking for help to punish tyrants or enemies of Islam he can use the names:

Al-Muntaqim:

The One who victoriously prevails over His enemies and punishes them for their sins. It may mean the One who destroys them. The Avenger

Al-Qahhar:

The Subduer who has the perfect Power and is not unable over anything. The Almighty, the Dominant

Asma Ul-Husna, where asma is the plural of the word “ism” which means name and husna means beautiful is like set of keys which helps us open the gates when our prayers try to reach to Allah(j.j)

Since Allah(j.j) is a companion to believers, it is really wise to know the meanings of Asma Ul-Husna. There are many hadiths of the Prophet Muhammed(saw) on the importance and meritoriousness of knowing all of Asma Ul-Husna

PRAYER WILL FIND EVERYONE TO BE FRIENDLY TOWARDS HIM AND SHOW EASINESS TO HIM.

HE WHO REPEATS THIS NAME 100 TIMES AFTER EACH FARD (OBLIGATORY) PRAYER WILL HAVE GOOD MEMORY, A KEEN AWARENESS, AND BE FREE OF A HEAVY HEART.

SESIAPA MENYEBUT NAMA INI 100 KALI SELEPAS SOLAT FARDHU AKAN MEMPUNYAI INGATAN YANG BAIK, FIKIRAN CERDAS SERTA BERMURAH HATI.

ONE NAME WHICH HAS BEEN HIDDEN BY ALLAH IS CALLED ISM ALLAH AL-A'ZAM.

RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS HAVE RELATED THAT ALLAH HAS THREE THOUSAND NAMES. ONE THOUSAND ARE ONLY KNOWN BY ANGELS, 1000 KNOWN ONLY BE PROPHETS, 300 ARE IN THE TORAH (OLD TESTAMENT), 300 ARE IN ZABUR (PSALMS OF DAVID)

300 IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AND 99 ARE IN THE QUR'AN. THIS MAKES 2999 NAMES.

ALL OF ALLAH'S NAMES ARE GREAT, BUT SINCE HE HAS HIDDEN THIS PARTICULAR NAME IS REFERRED TO THE GREATEST NAME. THE NAME MENTIONED IN THE ONLY QUR'AN AT THIS HADITS STATES:

ASMA RADIYALLAH ANHA, REPORTS THAT PROPHET MUHAMMAD, PEACE AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE UPON HIM, SAID : "THE GREATEST NAME OF ALLAH IS IN THESE TWO VERSES OF THE QUR'AN, 'HE WHO IS WORSHIPPED BY YOU IS ONE GOD, THERE IS NO GOD BUT HIM, THE COMPASSIONATE AND THE BENEFICENT (SURAH 2-163): ALSO IN THE FIRST PART OF (SURA ALI IMRAN-VERSE 1 AND 2).


AISHA RADIYALLAH ANHA, MENTIONED THAT YA RABB (OH LORD) IS THE GREATEST NAME.

SURA AL-BAQARA VERSE 163.

  وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ لَّا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَـٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ

And your Allah is One Allah. There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Dan Tuhan kamu ialah Tuhan yang Maha Esa; tiada Tuhan (Yang berhak disembah) selain dari Allah, yang Maha Pemurah, lagi Maha Mengasihani.


SURA ALI IMRAN VERSE 1 & 2.

الم

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ

Alif, Laam, Miim.



Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal.


Allah tiada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) melainkan Dia, Yang Tetap Hidup, Yang Kekal selama-lamanya mentadbirkan sekalian makhlukNya.



وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ

Taha verse 111


And (all) faces shall be humbled before (Allah), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists). And he who carried (a burden of) wrongdoing (i.e. he who disbelieved in Allah, ascribed partners to Him, and did deeds of His disobedience), will be indeed a complete failure (on that Day).

WHOEVER READS THE QUR'AN WILL HAVE READ THE GREATEST NAME PROBABLY WITHOUT KNOWING IT. SOME OF THE COMPANIONS OF THE PROPHET, MAY THE PEACE AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE UPON HIM, KNEW THE NAME. ALI KARRAMALLAHU WAJHAH (THE FOURTH CALIPH), MAY ALLAH EXALT HIM, WAS ONE WHO KNEW.
